Harlot's Lane

A rough in process map of Harlot's Lane, West Second Street, between Hudson and Walker. It is known today as Kerr.  I grew frustrated by the lack of detail and precision in the legends passed along about many of the locations and occupants.    Walker and Hudson run North-South and the right side of the map is North.  Occupancy was fluid but surprisingly consistent with the same business going on far longer than some have indicated. They were shut down but simply opened under new management.  The general rule for shutting down a house or business was how much nuisance you made.  The longest term businesses were those that kept a low profile.
